After alot of consideration of the pros and cons, I have formally resigned from Dafford Murals! I've spent alot of good years there, and I hope made alot of good art, but the time has come to move on. I plan to continue doing art, paintings, murals etc. on my own, further developing my own career and work. This is the new NEWS I've been hinting at for the last several months. It's finally april, and I've begun work on a few new projects. Chris Fruge and I will be collaborating on a few murals in downtown Baton Rouge, including one depicting the "Red Stick" for which the city is named. I'm also working on designing a poster/brochure for the Zydeco Cajun Prairie Scenic Byway. We'll also be having Art  Walk here at the Warehouse on Garfield St next week. Everyone come out and see our new stuff, Wednesday night, April 23rd. Hope to see you there.

Hey everyone. I entered the Acadiana Center for the Arts Juried Southern Open show last month and got a piece accepted. It is the "Allegory IV-Ares sitting on the Throne of Apollo" , clap now, yah me. It’s not the one I figured would be accepted, but I’m glad to have gotten it in. The opening night for the show is May 10, 2008, 6-8 p.m. during Artwalk in downtown Lafayette at the ACA building at the corner of Vermilion and Jefferson. Be sure to mark it on your calendars and come on down. It’s the first time I’ve entered a juried show in almost 12 years, but I’m hoping to start doing alot more, as well as trying to organize my own exhibits. This is an article written by my friend Justin Montovan.  As some of you already know my brother is the executive producer of a documentary that is about to come out called "Not Your Typical Bigfoot Movie". The film has been accepted to the South by Southwest Film Festival, which is one of the bigger film festivals in the United States. The film has already generated momentum through word of mouth and after only 1 week of the trailer being posted on youtube.com has drawn over 13,000 views. I have seen an early cut of the film and think that it is truly amazing. Support local art. Watch this trailer, pass it on, visit the webpage ( notyourtypicalbigfootmovie.com ), see the film.
In ChromeSun Productions, The Black Sun-Chapter 3-Alabaster Flowers is progressing nicely, and is about 50% complete. Considering chap 3 is the middle chapter for the complete work, The Black Sun is now 50% complete. There are some previews at the Black Sun Gallery, including a small 6 page pdf of the first 6 pages. I think it's on page 3 of the gallery.

Here's a progress shot of one of my new paintings "Allegory VI-Persephoneia Kore". It's very close to being done, just the tedious task of final blending and the nit-picking little things here and there. Mostly finishing the architecture. Oh, and if your interested, I've placed a test page from The Black Sun Chap 3 in the Black Sun Gallery, so go check it out. It's just a little hint about where the next chapter will go.
Happy New Year to everyone!!!! I'm sure this year will hold lots of great things for us all. I'm busy working right now putting together portfolios and resumes, sending out info packets, and trying to get ChromeSun Productions off the ground as a fine art and mural painting company. I'm also working on The Black Sun-Chapter 3, which is provisionally titled "Alabaster Flowers". And I've been in the studio alot lately working on new oil paintings. I hope everyone is well, and having a great new year.
New additions to the Stores!!! I've added posters of the Kincaid Site, postcards, magnets, and calendars. Of special notes is "Chrome, Glass and Paint -The Photorealist Art of Herb Roe", a large 11" x 17" wall calendar. It has 12 original oil and acrylic paintings. I think it came out pretty nice. Also is "The Kincaid Mound Site" Poster print and lots of other new stuff to the ChromeSunStore.

This painting is now on sale on the Store Page for $1,000.00, plus $15.00 shipping. It shows a reconstruction of what the Kincaid Site in Massac Co. Il.  may have looked like circa 1150 a.d.
